Cranfield airfield, once a busy training base for a number of flying schools and still a popular destination for instrument approach training, has announced sweeping changes to its operating hours because, it says, of a lack of Air Traffic Controllers.
The airfield now appears to be closed to all traffic at weekends and during weekdays a minimum of 24 hours ‘Prior Notification Required (PNR) applies, with prospective users having to make a booking with ATC.
