FTEJerez formally approved by UK CAA

Spanish-based training provider FTEJerez has been formally approved by the UK CAA as an Approved Training Organisation.

Following an announcement on 17 November 2022, FTEJerez may continue to provide the “full scope” of Part-FCL training courses, with British students able to work towards both an EASA or a UK CAA licence.

Despite basing its current headquarters in southwestern Spain, FTEJerez  has its origins in Scotland (as the British Aerospace Flight Training College); a “strong British heritage” noted by CEO Oscar Sordo when describing his company’s “long-lasting relationship with the UK CAA”. Sordo hopes the CAA approval will enable FTEJerez to “continue working closely with [their] British airline partners”.

This recent approval – which covers the full scope of the training provider’s available courses – builds on earlier CAA approval (in effect from October 2021) to certify FTE’s B737-800, A320 and Diamond DA42 simulators. Among the programmes offered are the British Airways Cityflier MAPS, which is looking to commence training candidates in Jerez in March 2023.
