2FLY Airborne announces new hiring partnership with Avelo Airlines

United States flight training provider 2FLY has announced a new ‘Preferred Hiring Pathway’ with Avelo Airlines, offering graduates the opportunity to interview for First Officer positions (subject to meeting a minimum hour requirement).

2FLY graduate pilots and flight instructors who have achieved their 1500 hour milestone will now be eligible to interview for an FO position with the airline, something Vice President of 2FLY Airborne, Adam Brumbaugh, describes as “a huge step in the right direction”.

The training provider’s “accelerated eight month” 2FLY First Officer Career Programme takes candidates with zero experience through to multi-engine commercial pilot status, during which time graduates gain additional paid experience as a 2FLY flight instructor. “The training and education received at 2FLY aligns with Avelo’s standards and we’re eager to invite their graduates to the flight deck,” notes Head of Flight Operations, Scott Hall.

Founded in 2021, Avelo serves over 30 destinations across the US and operates a fleet of Boeing NG 737-700s and 800s. “We hope to become a pipeline of talent for [the] growing airline,” explains Brumbaugh.

As part of the 2FLY Group – “a global group of aviation companies offering pilot training, cabin crew training, aircraft management, aircraft charter, airline and FBO services” – 2FLY Airborne “specialises in FAA and EASA airline pilot training” from bases in the USA, UK, Spain and Italy.
