Leading Edge Aviation Academy has announced the selection of six candidates for its fully-funded LEAP integrated ATPL training and Flight Instructor Course.
Applications for this “fantastic professional development opportunity” closed in December 2022, with CEO Andy McFarlane citing an “overwhelming response” from prospective candidates. Noting the “passion, dedication and talent demonstrated by all applicants”, he added his hope that “for those who were not successful, this has been a positive learning experience which will help them to continue towards their ambition to become a pilot”.
Six successful candidates will begin their training in April and July across Leading Edge’s two campuses: their main base at Oxford Airport and their ‘fair-weather’ campus in Alhama, Spain. Alongside receiving “the highest standards of regulatory technical training”, students will “also benefit from a comprehensive professional and personal development curriculum to enhance non-technical skills”.
The training package – including dual UK/EASA ATPL and FI ratings – is worth in excess of £115,000, and constitutes a “significant investment” by Leading Edge Aviation. After completing their training, candidates will take up a salaried post within the Leading Edge FI team for a minimum of two years.
“We can’t wait to welcome our new starters to the team”, noted McFarlane. “We are confident that they will thrive in our ‘Whole Pilot’ training program and make a significant contribution to the aviation industry”.
