TUI MPL cadet pilot programme application and recommendations

The first stage of the TUI Airways cadet pilot programme is now open giving applicants the chance to join the airline with the goal of becoming a TUI Airways 737 pilot.

In this video Stephen AV8 highlights the important skillsets applicants must showcase when applying for the ‘fully funded’ pilot programme. According to the influencer and commercial pilot, candidates must check their documents and get their CVs ready, adding, “this is a great opportunity for those who are looking for sponsored cadet pilot programmes.”

The TUI Airways fully funded pilot programme was first launched in 2023 with an aim to improve the supply of new pilots and to dissolve high up-front commercial pilot training cost. The carrier says that there is no need for prior piloting and aviation experience, after its 2023 cadet intake included former chefs, doctors and veterans.

Naturally the 2023 scheme attracted a high number of interest, including close to 6,700 initial applications and 2,000 interviews, before the top 30 candidates were agreed. The 2024, and the reopening of the course, was first announced by the airline in September last year, and is likewise expected to attract a high amount of interest from pilot hopefuls.

According to Stephen AV8 the 2024 scheme will be open for initial applications from the 8 January to the 31 January. However there is always the possibility of TUI closing the application gateway early.  Furthermore, there is a chance of  IT technical issues caused by the high number of website traffic and applications.

Committed, resilience, and hardworking are other demonstrable skills when applying for the cadet pilot position.
