TUI fly Belgium is hiring for its 2024 multi pilot licence (MPL) cadet pilot programme with applications closing on 1st May. The training programme, that aims to turn new recruits into 737 first officers within 19 months, is also open to applicants with little or no previous aviation experience.
To apply candidates must be a citizen of the EU and free to start the training programme in September 2024. However, unlike TUI Airways’ 2024 UK ‘fully funded’ cadet pilot training programme that opened its doors earlier this month, TUI fly Belgium hopefuls must pay 54,000 Euros towards training cost; a fee according to the carrier that is ’30-40%’ lower than alternatives.
Interested applicants must first pass TUI’s cadet pilot online assessment process. The online assessment features an English test, verbal reasoning and logical reasoning tests, plus a numerical test.
At this stage it is important that candidates fully understand the airline assessment process and the airline interview style. This then allows the prospective cadet pilots to better prepare and to better showcase their attributes and demonstrate why they should be selected, and ultimately pass beyond this first stage.
Candidates can then next expect a TUI Group online HR call so the carrier can get to know applicants better and to best assess their level of motivation and suitability for the MPL training course.
Afterwards, candidates can then expect a face-to-face interview plus group assessment with one of the airline’s crew resource management (CRM) instructors at its Zaventem base. Later is a 737 simulator assessment hosted by CAE in Brussels. It important to note that pilot aptitude will be assessed at this point, however no previous flying experience is necessary.
Success at this point will mean passing a board interview, followed by an online psychological assessment consisting of a personality questionnaire, cognitive reasoning test, and a video interview. A hiring decision will then be made at this point.
