The UK CAA has recently completed a revamp of its Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) dedicated website citing that it has been recognised by the aviation community that there will be an anticipated shortage of skilled aviation professionals in the near future.
The CAA says that “it is important we support the ambitions and interests of everyone to create opportunities which are inclusive and engaging for all. “Our stem.caa.co.uk website encourages young people to explore the various careers and direct them to foster the skills they need to pursue a career in aviation and aerospace.
“One of the standout features of our website is its user-friendly interface, which offers intuitive
navigation and seamless access to a diverse range of resources.”
Resources in the revamped website include:
• New aviation and aerospace themed Duke of Edinburgh activities.
• An interactive career map – explore the variety of careers within this industry.
• Downloadable activities for a variety of age groups including aviation themed Minecraft games, aviation timeline, videos and challenges.
• Career guidance (Work Experience, Internships, Graduate programmes and Apprenticeship information). • An overview of the role and the different capabilities of the Civil Aviation Authority.
• Information for applications for the Reach for the Sky Challenge fund.
The CAA adds: “Our website serves as a comprehensive hub for career guidance and STEM resources for young people teachers and parents.
“As we embark on this exciting new chapter, this year we will engage with hundreds of schools and thousands of young people to encourage them embark on a career in our sector.
“Together, we can ensure that the skies remain safe, sustainable, and accessible for generations to come.”
