Ravenair acquires LFS & Keenair facilities

Following on from the announcement last month that one of the UK longest established flying schools – Liverpool Flying School (LFS) – had closed, fellow Liverpool John Lennon Airport resident Ravenair has confirmed that it is in the process of acquiring the business’ hangar and office facilities.

Ravenair Ops Director Wayne Barrett told FTN that the company is in the advanced stages of purchasing LFS’ sister company Keenair, which for many decades provided maintenance and hangarage at Liverpool, as well as associated buildings and offices used by Keenair and LFS. The deal includes the transfer of the lease with the permission of Liverpool Airport, Barrett added.

While the transfer of ownership is being completed, Keenair operations are continuing as normal, FTN understands, with both parties working together collaboratively to ensure that there is a smooth transition of aircraft hangarage and maintenance operations for existing customers.

Barrett said: “We wish to thank Keenair and Liverpool Flying School for the valuable contribution they have made to General Aviation over the many years of being based at the Airport.”

Ravenair is the largest tenant on the GA side of the airport, providing a one-stop shop for General and Business Aviation users.

The company incorporates a busy commercial flight training school, FBO aircraft handling, hangarage, maintenance, aircraft charter, fuel supply and aerial survey operations.
