Helicentre Aviation Academy has announced its 2025 CPL(H) (Commercial Helicopter Pilot Licence) scholarship initiative.
The £250,000 scholarship fund, designed to assist modular trainee helicopter pilots fast-track their careers, are open to applicants training at both of Helicentre’s training bases at Oxford and Leicester airports.
Now open, the scholarships will be awarded in August 2025, to two pilots who have completed their PPL(H) with Helicentre by 31 July 2025.
The recipients will benefit from fully-funded hour-building to meet the pre-requisite hours for the issue of the CPL(H), before being awarded the full cost of the 35-hour CPL(H) modular flying course, all in the academy’s Cabri G2. Helicentre confirms that this could provide each of the scholarship recipients with as many as 140 flying hours, fully paid for with no training bond.
The remaining scholarship fund will be distributed amongst selected finalists, to part-fund elements of their modular commercial training course, Helicentre confirms.
Prospective applicants must register their interest at flyheli.co.uk/scholarships, complete an online application, and attain their PPL(H) with Helicentre Aviation by the deadline of 31 July 2025.
Applicants will be invited to interview upon completion of their PPL(H), with final selection taking place in August 2025 before the scholarship awards are made.
Helicentre adds that over and above the scholarship fund, applicants for the inaugural Oxford CPL(H) and CPL(H)/IR Integrated courses commencing on 04 October 2024 can apply for a share of £20,000 in bursaries to part-fund their commercial pilot training.
