UWL Pilot Skills Event 2025

The University of West London (UWL) is hosting its annual Pilot Skills Event this Saturday, 18 January 2025, at UWL’s campus in Ealing, London.

This free-to-attend event is designed to equip aspiring, trainee and existing commercial pilots with essential skills and resources to embark on their flying careers. The day promises a host of engaging activities and opportunities, including:

  • Aptitude skills assessment
  • Technical workshops showcasing the day-to-day responsibilities of a professional pilot
  • Free flight simulator experiences, from at-home setups to a fixed-base Boeing 737 simulator
  • Networking with representatives from leading UK and EU flight schools
  • Airline Pilots from a variety of companies on hand to answer your questions
  • Opportunity to discuss your career options with experienced pilots, current trainees and
    airline recruiters
  • Exclusive giveaways and competitions, offering simulator time, flying lessons and equipment
    to help you learn
  • Speaker sessions on the skills and mindset required to achieve success in aviation

Exhibitors will include industry leaders such as British Airways and TUI, both offering fully-sponsored
training pathways into the flightdeck this year. 

James Edmunds, Dean UWL said, “Now its 4th year, this event is about furthering the skills and
developing opportunities for pilots of all experience levels. It is great to bring together so many
experts to help enhance all with the skills they require to further their careers.”

Andrew Perkins, CEO at TurnPoint, who are helping organise the event, shared his excitement:
