London Oxford Airport headquartered Pilot Flight Training (PFT) has opened a new training facility at Thruxton Airport in Hampshire.
The new facility marks the school’s first move to the southwest, which has been operating out of Oxford Airport for more than 25 years, and is the initial stage in the company’s strategic growth plans to provide enhanced flight training services to aspiring pilots and aviators in the southwest region.
The school offers a range of courses, including the Private Pilot Licence, Light Aircraft Pilot Licence, Instrument Rating (Restricted), and Night Qualification as well as memberships to its Flight Club, members’ lounge and social events hub.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of Thruxton’s vision, as this allows us to bring our exceptional flight training services to a broader audience,” said Tom Saunders, owner and CEO of PFT. “We are committed to maintaining our highest standards of instruction and look forward to welcoming new students to our Thruxton location.”
The new PFT Thruxton facility, which opened its doors at the beginning of February, offers the same suite of flight training programmes as the Oxford base, with the added advantage of operating in a less congested airspace, which PFT says will provide students with more flexible scheduling options and a diverse flying experience.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Pilot Flight Training to Thruxton Aerodrome as part of our growing community,” said Sam Bolam, COO Thruxton Aerodrome. “Thruxton has always been a place where the thrill of adventure meets a sense of camaraderie, and PFT embodies that spirit perfectly. This partnership comes at an exciting time for us, as we embark on significant improvements to the aerodrome, aiming to make Thruxton the go-to destination for general aviation enthusiasts. We can’t wait to see PFT’s students embracing the joy of flight here at Thruxton.”
