Airways Aviation has completed the acquisition of Patria Pilot Training Oy, a Finish flight training academy formerly part of state-owned Patria Group.
The purchase agreement was signed in December 2024, with transfer of full ownership to Airways Aviation commencing this month, which culminates in the academy being renamed Airways Aviation Nordic.
Operating out of Pirkkala in Tampere and Vantaa, Finland, as well as Córdoba, Spain, Patria Pilot Training is a well-established provider of commercial pilot training programmes as well as operating military training contracts with the Finnish Ministry of Defence.
The training fleet consists of a fleet of 12 Diamond aircraft, three aircraft simulators (including an Airbus A320 Level 1 FTD) positioned across Finland and Spain.
Headquartered in Dubai, UAE, Airways Aviation operates in over 10 countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Australasia, operating one of the world’s largest fleet of Diamond aircraft, including Europe’s most extensive collection of Diamond DA40 and DA42 models.
The integration of Patria Pilot Training will enable Airways Aviation to offer an even broader range of pathways for existing and aspiring airline pilots, military aviators, cabin crew, ground handlers, maintenance technicians and aviation administrators.
