L3 CTS chosen by Wizz Air for additional pilot recruits

L3 Commercial Training Solutions (L3 CTS) has announced that graduates from its Airline Pilot career programme, an Integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) course, have been selected to fly Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe.

The successful graduates will complete the Wizz Air A320 type rating at L3 CTS’s Southampton Training Center before starting their professional flying career, commuting over the Wizz network or operating from one of Wizz Air’s 28 European bases.

L3 CTS has worked with the airline to provide airline pilot training since launching the Wizz Air Cadet program in 2015. However, the company says that this latest announcement introduces further opportunities specifically for pilots graduating from L3’s Integrated ATPL program.

We are delighted to offer our graduating pilots the fantastic opportunity to launch their Airline Pilot career with Wizz Air, an exciting and growing airline,” said Robin Glover-Faure, Acting President of L3 CTS. “Opportunities like these illustrate the expanding range of possibilities available to aspiring pilots through our Airline Academy, and we are proud of our ability to support Wizz Air by providing the highest-calibre pilots in the industry.”

József Ujhelyi, Chief Flight Operations Officer at Wizz Air, commented, “In 2018, we look forward to receiving our 100th aircraft, as well as creating 1,300 incremental jobs by the end of the year, while continuing to expand our network and increase the number of routes we operate across Europe. Our relationship with L3 CTS represents our commitment to investing in talent to support our strategic growth plan.
