Anthony Petteford Joins VA

Cambridge-based simulator operator VA (formerly Virtual Aviation) has announced that Anthony Petteford is joining the company as an investor shareholder and will take up the role of Executive Director.

Anthony is well-known within the European flight training industry having held senior positions at major flight training operations including as Managing Director of Oxford Aviation Academy for 15 years (acquired by CAE in 2012) and for the past 5 years as Vice President and Principal of Airline Academy training for CTC Aviation (acquired by L3 in 2015).

James Stevenson, Founder of VA said: “If I could have picked one person from the aviation industry that I’d most like to be in business with, it would have been Anthony.

So I’m absolutely thrilled that he’s now investing in VA and joining our management team. Aside from Anthony’s impressive track record and experience, it’s clear that he’s hugely liked and respected within the industry. He possesses enormous energy and enthusiasm, and what’s absolutely obvious is the genuine passion he has for helping individuals with a dream to fly to achieve their ambition.”

Anthony Petteford added: “As soon as I met James and the team at VA their clear commitment to deliver excellent professional training, coupled with a significant commitment to customer service, was very apparent.

Our customers, both airline and individuals, need high quality, independent training providers like VA to enable them to make an informed choice for what is a very significant investment in airline career training.

I am delighted to be joining VA at a time of significant demand for well-trained airline pilots and to work with a team whose values clearly align with my own; with the customer at the heart of everything we do.”
